Fellows are chosen on potential and need — not connections. Our selection runs from mid-January, with announcements by the end of May.
What we look for
- 01
Academic excellence
Demonstrated ability and a strong academic record.
- 02
Financial need
Verified through home visits and community engagement.
- 03
Service & leadership potential
A commitment to giving back and the potential to lead.
How selection works
- Stage 1
School identification
We identify well-performing public schools with dedicated teachers in rural Nepal.
- Stage 2
Student nomination
Schools nominate two SEE candidates with references and three years of transcripts.
- Stage 3
Written exam & interview
Candidates sit a written examination and progress to interviews — both qualifying rounds.
- Stage 4
Financial verification
Home visits verify financial circumstances alongside community leaders.
- Stage 5
Final selection
Selection is made after SEE results, in time for grade-11 admission. An agreement is signed with the fellow and their guardians.
